Siomay/Shumai. Siomay (also Somay), is an Indonesian steamed fish dumpling with vegetables served in peanut sauce. It is derived from Chinese Shumai. It is considered a light meal that is a type of Chinese Dim Sum, but is cone shaped.
In Cantonese cuisine, it is usually served as a dim sum snack.

Bahan-bahan yang dibutuhkan Siomay/Shumai
- Bunda dapat Siapkan Kulit siomay siap pakai (saya pakai kulit siomay homemade) sebanyak 20 buah.
- Olah Bahan isi siomay : sebanyak .
- Olah daging ayam sebanyak 200 gr.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan udang kupas sebanyak 100 gr.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan telur sebanyak 1 butir.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan bawang putih sebanyak 3 siung.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan tapioka/sagu sebanyak 2 sdm.
- Siapkan saus tiram sebanyak 1 sdt.
- Olah minyak wijen sebanyak 1 sdt.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan kaldu jamur sebanyak 1 sdt.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan gula pasir sebanyak 1/2 sdt.
- Olah garam (sesuaikan asinnya) sebanyak 3/4-1 sdt.
- Olah wortel uk.kecil(parut. Sisakan sedikit untuk toping siomay) sebanyak 1 buah.
- Bunda dapat Siapkan daun bawang (rajang halus) sebanyak 1 batang.
- Siapkan es batu (optional) sebanyak 4 kotak kecil.
Originated from the city of Bandung in West Java, these dumplings are an evolution of Chinese pork shumai. While I love the traditional steamed shumai, deep fried works for me too. This Siomai recipe that I have for you is the Cantonese variety. It basically makes use of ground pork and shrimps.
Langkah-langkah Untuk Membuat Siomay/Shumai
- Haluskan daging ayam,udang,daun bawang, bawang putih dan es batu (optional aja). Setelah lembut campurkan dengan bahan2 yg lain. Atau bisa juga proses semua bahan langsung di food processor/chopper hingga tercampur rata.
- Setelah tercampur rata, ambil 1 lembar kulit, olesi dg sedikit minyak tipis2 aja.
- Isi dengan 1 sdt penuh adonan, kemudian tangkupkan dan lipat2, olesi lagi bagian luarnya dg sedikit minyak, tata dalam sarangan yg sudah dioles tipis minyak. Lakukan hingga adonan habis.
- Kukus selama 20-25 menit hingga adonan matang.
- Setelah matang..angkat dan sajikan dengan saus sambal. Untuk resep sausnya pakai yg simple aja : 1 sdm saus tomat, 1 sdm saus pedas manis (saya pakai merek Indo***d), 3 sdm air panas, aduk rata semua bahan. Sajikan.
- Kalau mau digoreng juga bisa ya bu ibu..habis dikukus goreng hingga golden brown...yummy👌.
